Local mobile applications developer Amethon appoints Roger Smeed as Chairman

Sydney, 24 August 2006: Australian mobile messaging and applications developer, Amethon Solutions today announced the appointment of Roger Smeed as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Roger Smeed has unique corporate and senior management experience and skills, with extensive Australian and international experience at Chief Executive and Company Director level, for both public and private companies and government-owned corporations.

Amethon has developed a unique and compelling set of products for the mobile content delivery value chain relevant for mobile carriers, content owners and publishers, and brands wanting to leverage the massive increase in mobile based user generated content, as well as security applications. Amethon has developed specific applications to measure and monetise mobile content across networks - a key driver for continued revenue growth for mobile carriers. Roger Smeed currently serves as a non-executive Director on the Boards of a number of Australian companies, to whom he also provides corporate, management and governance advice. He is a well respected commentator and advisor on corporate governance issues particularly regarding the protection of shareholders interests and reporting and disclosure obligations.
